Evacuation notice
1. By order of the German Authorities, all Jews living in Warsaw, irrespective of their age and sex, are to be deported eastward.
2. The deportation order does not apply to the following categories:
a) All Jews employed by the German Authorities or by German employers, and able to produce
sufficient proof of this fact.
b) All Jewish who are members of the Judenrat and its employees, depending on their situation the day
that the present order is published.
c) All Jews employed by companies belonging to Germans, and able to produce sufficient proof
of this fact.
d) All Jews without such employment, but able to work. They will be quartered in the Jewish
area.
e) All Jewish Police members.
f) All Jewish hospital personnel or members of Jewish disinfection squads.
g) All Jewish relatives of categories a) to f) . Only wives and children are considered as relatives.
h) All Jews undergoing treatment in Jewish hospitals the day deportations begin, excepting those
able to travel. Inability to travel must be certified by a Judenrat-appointed doctor.
3. Every deported Jew is entitled to take along 15 kilos (about 32 lbs) of personal belongings.
Any excess luggage will be confiscated. All valuables, such as money, jewels, gold, etc... may
be taken along. Deportees are requested to provide enough food for themselves for a three-day
journey.
4. Deportation begins on 22 July 1942, at 11:00 a.m.
5. Penalties :
a) Any Jew not belonging to categories a) and c), and not entitled to work for them, and caught
leaving the Jewish quarter after deportation begins, will be shot.
b) Any Jew undertaking action liable to thwart or hamper the deportation orders will
be shot.
c) Any Jew assisting action liable to thwart or hamper the deportation orders will be shot.
d) Any Jew found living in Warsaw after the end of deportations, and not belonging to the categories of individuals a)to h), will be shot.
